Ben, accompanied by his father Tobey for the first week of his walk, has left the Atlantic Coast (Delaware) on the American Discovery Trail. To accomplish his goal of reaching the Pacific Ocean in 8 months, he has to walk 25 miles every day.
Ben is a recent high school graduate who has nurtured the vision of crossing the country on foot for years - he is also a fervent follower of Christ, a diligent participant in the Disciple-Maker mentoring group at RiverStone Church in Charlottesville, VA.
